Question by Sarah: What will the weather be like in Tenerife in April?
I fly out to Tenerife on honeymoon on the 1st April 2008 and just wondered what the weather will be like? I have a daughter who will be 16 months then and I want to make sure that I pack the right things!! Thanks for your help.
I am going to Playa de las Americas in the south of the island.

It depends on where exactly you are going.
The North part of the island is very lush and green and tends to get more rain and unsettled weather although the temperature for April should be around 27oC.
The South part of the island is very dry and dessert like, hardly any rain and slightly wamer at around 29oC.

It really depends on if you are going to north or south. South enjoys more warm weather… it is cooler in april but still quite nice. They have noce weather all year round. Spend xmas day next to the pool etc. The north is a bit cooler and can be more cloudy. You may need to take a coat or a jumper for the afternoons or evenings… I doubt you will get sun burnt but I would cover for every eventuality!
I went near to playa de las americas (south west) on 7th April last year. 1st day cloudy then hot hot hot! (As in burn your feet round the pool – needed fipflops!) I took my 2 young girls.
I’d prepare for it being hot – keep her covered and plenty of sunblock. Have Fun !!
Hunney bunney right too. We travelled to the north and it was a bit cool – needed a jumper.
The weather in tenerife is always warm and most in April… sure is warm/hot
